RIDING FOR THE DISABLED

On Saturday 1st December, the Provincial Grand Master, Bro.Peter Connolly, presented a new stable to Riding for the Disabled at Crosby. The money was donated from the Penrith weekends, topped up by the Province. He was accompanied by a number of Garston masons, including the weekend organisers Barry Elman, Colin Svenson and Tony McGloughlin. Also present were Fred Hunter, Sid Blake and Eric Hughes, most being accompanied by their partners. Our stable was much appreciated and has enabled the branch to obtain another horse, thereby allowing a minimum of a further 10 rides per week. No rent is payable on this stable, saving the charity even more money.

The visiting party were very impressed with the facilities, particularly the indoor arena for which Mark Masons also provided a special rake, saving the assistants a lot of time.
